Waypoint – No.23

Waypoint - oysters

Number 23 now?  OK, knowing that we had limited time in Boston we originally skipped Waypoint as we were going to dine at its sister restaurant Alden and Harlow (number 11).  However, a friend was visiting from the UK during our final weekend and a good brunch was needed (no-one should visit the USA without experiencing brunch!).  We remembered we had missed Waypoint and thought it looked the perfect choice and we were not disappointed.

Jackie and I are now addicted to oysters and with a nice selection on offer it was a no-brainer where we would start; plus point…it came with its own mini bottle of spicy sauce.  As we were at our last brunch before departing Boston, the only other thing to do was toast the past year with a bottle of rosé champagne (or two).  Cheers.

Waypoint - brunchRob doesn’t like oysters (what?) so we ordered a lovely selection of freshly baked breads, butter and jam, served in a cast iron skillet.  On to the mains where Rob and Jackie both ordered the potato latke Benedict, with a spicy Benedict sauce, and a real winner with both of them. Me, well the hangover pizza from Coppa was still fresh in my memory so I opted for the salami and fried pepper pizza.  To say it hit the spot would be an understatement, it was delicious.  Of course, at the end of two bottles of bubbles, we were rather raucous but thankfully the noise from our table was swallowed up by the lively ambiance of the very full restaurant.  A fun brunch with great service and food, so a fantastic way to finish up our brunches in Boston.
