Spoke Wine Bar – Number 49
January 14, 2019
Our expectations have now been set as number 50 was genuinely a great restaurant. Â It can only get better as we move up the list, right?
We were not disappointed at Spoke Wine Bar, and in fact I can honestly say, this restaurant had little elements of genius to both surprise and delight us in its dishes. Â Clark was unimpressed when I chose a ‘smoked butter bean dip’ to share, where he chose the more manly ‘Wagyu ribeye’. Â But he gushed at how amazing it was (along side the exceptional home baked bread) and a mini fight ensued over who got to eat the most. Â The Wagyu ribeye to be fair was also fantastic, with an amazing addition of puffed rice, which sounds bazaar, but really made the dish super special as it added great texture.
The restaurant has a large bar, but this was all set up for diners, so we cocktailed at our table; they were great cocktails. Â The wine list, as expected being a wine bar, was very extensive starting at $49 for a bottle of red.
It has a small menu with small plates that are made for sharing, which enabled us to try a few different dishes. Â Everything we had tasted great and was beautifully presented. Â
The atmosphere was bustling and full and we loved the high top tables. Â There was a great ambiance and everyone looked happy. Â You even get a view of the open kitchen at the end of the restaurant.
Would I change anything? – absolutely not. Â Spoke Wine Bar has a great pace, great atmosphere, great service and great food and drinks. Â Thanks Spoke.
